Our DC Distribution Boards are built with devices rated specifically for direct current, which does not have the natural zero crossing that helps an AC device break a fault. String fuses, DC-rated isolators and surge protection are selected accordingly. Enclosures are fabricated from 1.5 or 2.0 mm CRCA sheet and supplied at IP45 for indoor use or IP65 where the board is mounted in the field.
A DCDB collects the DC output of several photovoltaic strings or battery banks, protects each string individually and combines them into a single conditioned feed to the inverter or charge controller. String inputs are configured to suit the array design, each with its own fuse, and Class-II surge protection is fitted to guard the inverter against lightning-induced transients. DC voltmeters and ammeters with indication lamps allow string performance to be checked without opening the enclosure.
