DRIVE-X

MCC Panel

Precision-engineered for centralized motor management and industrial efficiency.

In order to satisfy the diverse preferences of customers, we are engaged in offering superior quality 3 Phase MCC Panels. This panel is widely applauded in the market for its less power consumption and easy installation. At our well-established manufacturing house, this panel is manufactured using premium-grade components and cutting-edge methodology by our highly experienced professionals.

Apart from this, the provided panel is available at a budget-friendly price in the market. A motor control center (MCC) is an assembly to control some or all-electric motors in a central location. It consists of multiple enclosed sections having a common power bus and with each section containing a combination starter, which in turn consists of a motor starter, fuses or circuit breaker, and power disconnect. Our motor control center can also include pushbuttons, indicator lights, variable-frequency drives, programmable logic controllers, and metering equipment.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to common questions about the MCC Panel.

What is an MCC panel and what does it do?

A motor control centre (MCC) groups the starters, protection and control for many motors in one assembly fed from a common busbar. It gives a plant one place to start, protect, isolate and monitor its motor feeders.

What is the difference between Form 3b and Form 4b separation?

Form 3 separates the busbars from the functional units and the units from each other. Form 4 also separates the terminals of each unit from its neighbours, so one outgoing feeder can be worked on while the rest stay live. Our MCC panels can be built up to Form 3b or 4b. Choose Form 4 where a single feeder cannot be shut down without stopping the process.

What is the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 coordination?

After a short circuit, Type 1 allows the contactor and overload relay to be damaged and replaced. Type 2 allows no damage except light welding of the contactor tips, so the starter is fit for service afterwards. Our MCC specification lists Type 2 coordinated starters. Type 2 is proven by testing one specific breaker, contactor and overload relay combination, so ask for the coordination table for the starters you need.

Which starters and motor ratings can an MCC panel handle?

Outgoing feeders can be DOL, FASD, ATS, soft starter or VFD, with a rated capacity of up to 750 kW (1000 HP) as listed in the specification table. Starter choice depends on the motor size and how often it starts, so send us your motor list and we will suggest the right mix.

Should the busbar be copper or aluminium?

Both are available. The specification table works with 1.6 A per sq.mm for copper and 0.8 A per sq.mm for aluminium, so an aluminium bar needs about twice the cross section for the same current. Either way, the rating has to be de-rated for the temperature inside the enclosure, so bar size should be checked against the real ambient and not the nameplate figure.

Which IP rating should I choose for an MCC panel?

We build to IP42, IP54, IP55 and IP65 as per requirement. A higher number is not automatically better, because a sealed IP65 enclosure holds heat and may need a larger enclosure, a heat exchanger or filtered ventilation. Start from where the panel will stand and what it will face, and the rating follows from that.

What do I need to send for an MCC panel quotation?

Send the motor list or load list with ratings and starter types, the single line diagram if you have one, the supply voltage and prospective fault level, the form of separation and IP rating you need, and the site ambient temperature. With those we can give a proper technical offer.
